The Thinking Environment® is a process focused on creating conditions that enable deep, independent thinking. What makes it special?
Core Philosophy It’s built on the premise that people think best when given high-quality attention and respect for their own creativity and judgment. Rather than being told what to think, participants learn to think more deeply for themselves.
The 10 Components The framework is organized around 10 specific components that create this optimal thinking environment. These components are both learnable skills and conditions to establish.
Universal Application What makes it particularly notable is its relevance across diverse roles—coaches, teachers, leaders, entrepreneurs, parents—suggesting it addresses fundamental human needs around thinking and attention rather than being domain-specific.
The Foundation Course:
Are you interested in groups and the Thinking Environment? This is the place to start. The Foundation Course serves as both an introduction and a gateway, being required before advancing to Facilitator training for anyone wanting to become a certified Time To Think Facilitator.
The Foundation Course (3 Days) introduces you to the Ten Components of a Thinking Environment and their eight group applications. You will explore Thinking Pairs, Dialogue, Rounds, Open Discussion, Meetings, the Council and Facilitation. Any of these applications will help you turn groups and organizations into Thinking Environments.
You will also see one Thinking Partnership demonstration in order to consider its importance for leaders in creating Thinking Environment cultures.

- The 3 Full Applications: Transforming Meetings, The Time To Think Council, Presentations in a Thinking Environment

Time To Think – The Facilitator Course ($900 per person) – Held from 11am – 1pm Pacific Time
Below dates are all for 2026:
- October 5, 6, 7 and 8th
The Thinking Partnership Course:
The Thinking Partnership Course (4 Days) is designed to help you think for yourself — and to create the conditions for others to do the same. This is the heart of all Thinking Environment work. And in a world that can feel increasingly noisy and overwhelming, the ability to think clearly and independently has never mattered more.
This course is for anyone who works with people — teachers, parents, business owners, managers, consultants, therapists, and coaches. You will learn how to listen deeply and attentively, in a way that genuinely ignites the thinking of the person in front of you. You also will explore the ten Components of a Thinking Environment — the essential ingredients that help people think at their best, and feel truly supported, heard, and valued.
Time To Think – The Thinking Partnership Course ($1000 per person) – Held from 11am – 1pm Pacific Time
Below dates for future events:
- August 10, 11, 12, 13
